Testimonials
I have been seeing Charlotte for sports massages for the past 18months, after struggling for a long time with a hamstring injury caused by running. The massages are really effective and enabled me to recover from the injury and also prevent it from returning. With her help I was able to get back running, and even got a new PB at the Brighton Half Marathon earlier this year!
Charlotte has treated me at my office regularly over the last 2 years and I would recommend her based on my experience. I am a runner and usually have specific needs which Charlotte treats. On one occasion Charlotte treated a minor knee injury which helped me recover successfully. All of my treatments have been focused on my legs while training for half marathons and Brighton Marathon. Charlotte also introduced me to new body/muscle activation treatment that she practices which I had not previously considered as a runner. I think this has all helped me improve and decrease my risk of injury.
I first presented to Charlotte with four weeks to go to a planned 85 mile Ultra trail run. My symptoms included hamstring pain and tendonitis, gluteal pain, limited movement of the left hip. This injury had been hounding me for a very long time. I was not optimistic of a recovery never mind being able to run at the event. I was very impressed initially by the review of my injury and also by the knowledge of Charlotte. Charlotte suggested to me a plan of myofascial release accompanied by massage and manipulation of the hip and hamstring tendons. Sceptical I was initially, but within two treatments I was running again, first with some pain and then with none. I felt strong and by the event date I was fit and running with no symptoms at all. I completed the event and I am currently pain and injury free. I now maintain my visits to Charlotte fortnightly for maintenance. I can’t recommend her expertise any more!!
I am a keen runner and have had several muscular issues which Charlotte has helped to fix. She is very knowledgeable and friendly and she always knows how to address any problems I am having. Charlotte always puts me at ease and takes the time to listen to my problems and checks in with me during the session to ensure I am okay. She is very clear in explaining what’s caused the issues and at the end of the session she always explains what she has done and offers great advice on exercises to do. These are to help strengthen muscles and to help prevent problems reoccurring and they have certainly worked for me. Every time go away at the end of the session feeling like I have a new pair of legs!
I began seeing Charlotte in 2017 after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had read that Shiatsu massage could be beneficial and wanted to find out if this was the case for me. Charlotte’s skill has been extremely helpful in enabling me to cope with muscle pain and stiffness, and crushing fatigue. She took a careful history when I first began treatment, and from that start has built up a good understanding of how fibro affects me. Charlotte always checks in with me before we begin a session and then tailors the session to meet my needs on that day. She also has an unerring knack of finding the sore points I forgot to mention! Thanks to Charlotte’s expertise I am able to manage my fibro the way I want to.
I have been receiving treatments from Charlotte for a few years regarding my long term health condition. She is professional and compassionate which makes me feel relaxed and assured that I’m in ‘good hands’. Over the years she has built up an accolade of holistic skills which makes my massages with her very specific yet varied depending on what I need. I really look forward to my treatments with Charlotte as afterwards I always feel like I have benefited immensely!
I first heard of Charlotte by word of mouth, from two friends that had good experiences with her. At the time I was training for my first ultra, and I couldn’t finish a training run due to pain. Charlotte was very professional, realistic and accommodating, as this was only two weeks before the race – she identified the main issue and I was able to finish the race (albeit painfully), and I’ve been working with her ever since – I can wholly recommend her!
